Taylor Funeral Home of Gibson announces the death and funeral services of Mr. Jewell Kenneth Dye 75, of Storm Branch Road, Beech Island, SC who died Thursday June 14, 2018 at his residence.

Funeral services will be held 2:00 PM Saturday June 23, 2018 in the Taylor Funeral Home Chapel, Gibson, with Rev. Don Widner officiating. Burial will follow in the Friendship Baptist Church Cemetery in Mitchell with Military Honors.

A native of Mitchell, Jewell was a son of the late Forris Allen Dye and Gladys Mae Walden Dye. He served in the Navy and was a self-employed carpet layer for more than 45 years.

Mr. Dye was preceded in death by his parents and brothers, Melvin Dye, Raymond Dye, Terrell Dye, Joseph Dye and is survived by his wife, Christine Prather Dye of Beech Island, SC; his daughters, Patti Dye of Palm Springs, FL., Sherry Taylor of Loxahatchee, FL., Bonnie Drotar of Clearwater, SC.; son, Kenneth Dye of West Palm Beach, FL.; sisters, Dotsie & Hoyt Cole of Gibson, Beryl & Phil Lambert of Grovetown and Marcia & Terry Howell of Gibson; 6 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews.

The Dye family will receive friends 12:00-2:00 PM Saturday, June 23, 2018 at the funeral home.
