Taylor Funeral Home of Louisville announces the death and funeral services of Mrs. Jean Dixon Walden, age 88, of Highway 24 West in Bartow, who died Friday morning, March 28, 2025.
Funeral services will be held 3:00 PM Sunday, March 30, in the Louisville First Baptist Church with Rev. Jonathan Melchior officiating. Pallbearers will be Ollie Freeman, Cason Walden, David Dollar, Dan Gibson, Mark Davis, and Jonathan Davis. She will be laid to rest in the Jefferson Memorial Gardens. The Walden family will receive friends at the church on Sunday one hour prior to the services.
Mrs. Walden was a native of Bartow, a daughter of the late Hubert Dixon and Evelyn Dixon Sauley. She was a graduate of Wadley High School. She began working at Jefferson Energy Cooperative in 1957 as a Membership Clerk and retired in 1997 after 37 years of service. Known for her great sense of humor and straightforward demeanor, Jean had a personality that resonated warmth and loyalty. She possessed a deep love for her family, embracing each member with affection and dedication. Her loving, kind, and generous nature touched everyone around her. She formed deep, loyal friendships, leaving a significant impact on the lives she encountered. Jean's faith was the cornerstone of her existence. For many years she was a member of Old Bethel Baptist Church and later becoming an active member of Louisville First Baptist church. Her devotion extended not only to her spiritual life but also to her family and friends, as she was known for her loving, kind, and generous nature. Family was always her first priority and greatest love.
Mrs. Walden was preceded in death by her parents, loving husband of 57 years: Donald Maxie Walden, Sr.; grandson: Daniel Dollar; sister: Bernice Humphrey; and is survived by daughter: Donna (Jimmy) Pittman of Oconee; sons: Donald Maxie (Buster) Walden, Jr. of Louisville and Brian P. (Susan) Walden of Bartow; sister: Carolyn Boulineau of Wrens; brother: Wiley Dixon of Guss Creek, SC; grandchildren: Ron Kelley, David (Crystal) Dollar, Mallory Murray, Cason Walden, & Lexi Walden; great-grandchildren: Angela Kelley, Jordan Kelley, Kaden Dollar, and Maxie Dollar; great-great-grandchildren: Nalviah & Phoenix; and several nieces, nephews and friends.
