Taylor Funeral Home of Louisville announces the death and services of Mr. James Marcus McLendon, age 90, of Spruce Street in Louisville, who died at his home Monday morning, November 3, 2025.

Graveside services will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, November 7, 2025, in the Louisville City Cemetery.

Marcus was a native of Arlington, Georgia, son of the late Leland E. McLendon and Emma Pearl Stone McLendon. He had worked for Piggly Wiggly for more than 30 years as a meat supervisor as well an associate at Taylor Funeral Home for several years. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Louisville. Marcus enjoyed woodworking, cutting grass, and listening to the Georgia Bulldogs on the radio. Yet, his favorite pastime was spending time with his beloved family and dogs.

Marcus was preceded in death by his parents, beloved wife, Margie Thompson McLendon, sisters, Phyllis Smith and Bobbie Lou Ditty, and is survived by son & daughter in-law, Keith & Linda McLendon, of Louisville, daughter & son in-law, Jan & Ricky Wasden, of Louisville, grandson, Christoper McLendon (Kristy) of Tifton, beloved brother in-law, Jerry D. Thompson (Lynn), sisters in-law, Thelma and Bonnie Thompson, along with several nieces, nephews and friends.

The family will be at the residence and will receive friends following the graveside services Friday.

Taylor Funeral Home and Cremation Care of Louisville is in charge of arrangements.
