Taylor Funeral Home of Louisville announces the death and funeral services for Mr. James Butler McKnight, age 91 of Louisville, who died Wednesday, June 3, 2015 at his residence.
Graveside funeral services with full Military Honors will be held 11:00 AM Tuesday, June 9, in the Wadley City Cemetery with Mr. Bill Smith officiating.
A native of Wesson, MS, Mr. McKnight was a son of the late James E. & Bennie Butler McKnight. He was a U.S. Air Force Veteran, serving in World War II with 23 years of service rising to Chief Warrant officer W-3. He was a Pilot with his own Cessna 172 Sky Hawk. Mr. McKnight had worked as a Court Bailiff for the Jefferson County Court System for 20 years and was a member of the Louisville First Baptist Church.
James was preceded in death by his parents, and a wife; Frances Hammens McKnight, brother; Melvin McKnight, sisters; Bennie Elmer & Laura Greer and is survived by sons; Erick & Barbara McKnight of Macon, & Mike McKnight of Marietta, a daughter; Jacki & David Lecka of Banner Elk, NC, granddaughters; Errica & Barry Stubbs of Macon, Morgan Lecka of Banner Elk, NC, grandson; Kyle Lecka of Banner Elk, NC & 2 great grandchildren.
The McKnight family will received friends Monday evening, June 8th from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at the Funeral Home.
