LOUISVILLE - Mr. Jack Bell Borders, 83, beloved husband to Evelyn Louise McNeely Borders, died Monday morning in the Life Care Center of Hilliard, FL.
Funeral service will be held 11:00 AM Thursday, Graveside in the Louisville City Cemetery with full military honors, with Rev. Bob Atkinson officiating.
A native of Warren County, Mr. Borders was a son of the late E. Paul & Estelle Bell Borders. He retired after 21 years of military service in the United States Army. He traveled throughout the U.S. and several foreign countries receiving many awards and decorations including the Bronze Star for his service in Vietnam. After his retirement Mr. Borders was self employed. He was of the Baptist faith and is a member of Duhart Baptist Church. He taught Sunday school at the former trinity Baptist church for 25 years and volunteered his time to minister at Bridges of Hope and the local jail; he loved teaching others about God.
Jack was preceded in death by his parents and siblings; Paul Borders, Clinton Reid borders, Mary borders Crain, Lucy borders McCorkle Ethel borders Harris & James borders. He is survived by loving wife Evelyn Louise McNeely Borders of Louisville, daughter, Jacqueline Galbreath & husband Craig of Hilliard, FL, granddaughter, Jacqueline Leigh Koiro & husband David of Yulee, FL, grandson, Dylan Craig Galbreath & wife Crystal of St. Mary's, GA, great grandson, Michael Shane McGahee of Yulee, FL, brother, John Hart Borders of Warrenton, GA, several nieces & nephews.
The Borders family will receive friends 6:00 to 8:00 PM Wednesday at Taylor Funeral Home.
