Taylor Funeral Homes of Louisville announces the death and funeral services of Mrs. Iris Polan, age 63, of Swainsboro who died Wednesday morning May 4, 2022, in the Comfort Creek nursing home in Wadley.

Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM Saturday morning May 7, 2022, in the chapel of Taylor Funeral Home Louisville with Rev. Richard Stavely officiating. Burial will follow in the Blundale Baptist Church Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Cleve Lamb, Colby Lamb, Bruce Butler, William Griffin, Dusty Fuller, & Cody Wommack. The family will receive friends Saturday morning from 9:00 AM till service time at the funeral home,

Iris was born in McRae, GA a daughter of the late J.D. McAlum & Hazel Mae Kersey McAlum. She was a retired LPN with Glendale Nursing Home now Comfort Creek Nursing Home for 40 years and a longtime member of Blundale Baptist Church.

Mrs. Polan was preceded in death by her parents, her husband James Polan to whom she was married to on October 1, 1976 and is survived by, her sons Jimmy Polan (Tara), Louisville, and Brandon Polan (Selena), Swainsboro, grandchildren Taylor , Louisville and Skyler,  Leland and Grayson, Swainsboro, sisters Sandra Phillips (Jimmy), Swainsboro, Frances Thigpen (Mike), Cochran, Marsha McAlum, Swainsboro, brothers Gladus McAlum, Glenwood, Comer (Becky) McAlum, Glenwood, John (Terri) McAlum, Kansas City, MO., several nieces, nephews and lifelong friends.

The family will gather at the home of Jimmy & Sandra Phillips, 269 Cross Green Road in Swainsboro.
