Taylor Funeral Home of Louisville announces the death of Mr. Herschel Rivers Waits, age 83 of Highway 171 north Louisville who died Friday May 27, at his home.

Funeral services will be held 2:00 PM Tuesday May 31, 2022, in the Jefferson Memorial Garden with Rev. David Boggs and Rev. Larry Martin officiating. Pallbearers will be Jerry Kelley, Jamie Hawkins, Rodney Hiebert, Billy Lamb, Bill Lamb, Bill Godowns, Cole Godowns, and Lenny Hobbs. Honorary Pallbearers will be the Ingles Coffee Club.

Herschel was a native of Flovilla, GA a son of the late Rivers Waits & Dorothy Jenkins Waits. He was the owner of Waits Trucking Company more than 50 years.

Mr. Waits was preceded in death by his parents and a sister Jeanette Stephens, step father, Pete Peters and is survived by his loving wife of 62 years Dollie Waits, daughter & son-in-law, Robbie & Tracy Walden all of Louisville, sister Ruth & Harold Smith, of Flovilla, GA., brothers, Herman & Nancy Waits of Jackson, GA, Dennis Waits of Alexandria, VA., and Mike Peters of Jackson, Anna Godowns that he loved as his own, and several nieces, nephews, cousins and lifelong friends.
