Taylor Funeral Home of Louisville announces the death and services of Harry F. Jones, age 95, of Louisville who passed away October 30, 2022, at his residence.  A native of Louisville, Georgia, Harry was the son of the late Andrew P. Jones, Sr. and Marie Hadden Jones.  He was preceded in his death by his brothers Andrew P. Jones, Jr., William P. Jones, Johnny J. (Deek) Jones, and is survived by his wife of 77 years and the love of his life, Merlyn Green Jones.  He had four daughters:  Patricia Johnson (Gene), Terry Jones, Pam Kirby (Skip), and Marilyn Wangsnes (Kraig).  He was blessed with seven grandchildren:  Gene (Christi), Patrice (Mike), Caroline, Kirby (Kelly), Kristen, Jarrett and Wyatt.  He has four great grandchildren:  Natalie, Emily, Reece and Gwendolyn.  He is also survived by his brother Bobby Jones and his sister Sally Ree Jones Netherland.

Harry was a World War II veteran and served in the Pacific theatre.  He was a catcher for the Army baseball team during the occupation of Japan.  When he returned home, he worked on the family farm and became a successful cotton, wheat, peanut, and soybean farmer.

He was a member and Deacon of the Louisville Associate Reformed Presbyterian Church, a member of the American Legion, an honorary member of the World War II Museum, a member of the Farm Bureau, as well as an honorary member of the Georgia Sheriff's Association.  In addition to these affiliations, he was awarded with the Georgia Farmer of the Year Award.

His family will deeply miss him and will cherish his memory as well as carry his legacy with them for as long as they live. The kind of man Harry Jones was, is today, a "dying breed."  He was a hardworking, Christian man that would do anything for his family.

Graveside services will be held in his memory on Saturday, November 5, 2022, at 11:30 a.m. at the Louisville City Cemetery officiated by the Rev. Bill Cain. Visitation with the family afterwards.
