Mr. Franklin (Doodle Bug) David Lamb, Sr., age 81 of River Road, Wadley died Monday, April 28, 2014 in the Jefferson Hospital.
Funeral services will be held 2:00 PM, Wednesday, April 30, 2014 in the Central Baptist Church with Elder Kenneth Brantley officiating. Burial will follow in the Church Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Sonny Lamb, Billy Lamb, Stan Jones, Frankie Jones, George Lamb, Bill Lamb, Alvie Lamb, Mack Reeves and Barney Thompson.
Frank was a lifelong resident of Jefferson County. A son of the late Cleveland Brinson Lamb, Jr. and Mae Lampp Lamb, Frank served in the U. S. Army during the Korean Conflict. He retired after more than 28 years as an insurance salesman with Woodmen of the World and was a founding member of Central Baptist Church.
Mr. Lamb was preceded in death by his parents, two wives Betty Lou McNeely Lamb and Linda Livesay Lamb, seven siblings and a son, Edward Mac Lamb and is survived by son Franklin D Lamb, Jr. and wife Cissy of Gray, daughter Betty Luann Jackson and husband Curtis of Gray, stepson Kevin Fincher of Dry Branch, grandchildren Merri Jackson, Duke Miller, Nicole Miller-Pellicer and husband Leon, two great-grandchildren Kai and Mila, several nieces and nephews.
The family requests that in lieu of flowers, memorials be made to the Central Baptist Church Cemetery fund, PO Box 9, Wadley, GA 30477, or to the charity of the donors choice.
The Lamb family will receive friends 12:45 to 1:45 PM just prior to the service at the church on Wednesday.
The family would like to express their gratitude to Paula Stickle and the caregivers of Paula's Home Place for the care they gave to Mr. Lamb.
