Taylor Funeral Home of Gibson announces the death and funeral services of Mrs. Faye Walden, 80, of Mitchell who died Friday, October 21, 2022, at Doctors Hospital.

A funeral service will be held on Monday, October 24, 2022, at 2:00 pm at Mount Nebo Primitive Baptist Church with Rev. Philip Nichols officiating.  Honorary pallbearers will be Jackie Haywood, Lee Griffin, Larry Tucker, Jerry Hutchinson, Andy Rogers, and Lewis Berry.

A native of Warren County, Faye was a daughter of William Shelton and Kate Bales Shelton and was a lifelong resident of Mitchell. She loved spending time with her family and friends, her family being her greatest joy.  She enjoyed cooking and baking and was known for the candy she would bake and give away at Christmas.  She was an avid member of Mount Nebo Primitive Baptist Church.

Faye is predeceased by her parents, her beloved husband Oscar "Tommy" Walden, and her granddaughter Cristal Clark.  She is survived by her daughter Tracy Chalker, her son Clay Walden (Kim), grandson Thomas Walden and great grandson Andrew Joiner.

The family will receive friends on Sunday, October 23, 2022, from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm at Taylor Funeral Home in Gibson.
