Taylor Funeral Home of Gibson announces the death and services of Emmett Angelo Loudis Jr, 70, who died peacefully Friday, January 29, 2021.

He is survived by his sister, Mary Diane Byrum (Billy), ex-wife, Betty Harris, who was one of his best friends, Larry Webber was his best friend of over forty years. He has many cousins in Alabama that he remained close with, Mavis Weems was very close to Emmett. Their birthdays were 1 day apart.

Emmett was born in Alabama, grew up in Augusta and called Gibson his home for more than 25 years. All the people of Gibson he considered his friends and family. After proudly serving his country, Emmett, worked at M&M trailer park until retirement. He enjoyed the country, fishing, hunting, and gardening. How Emmett loved his family was apparent to everyone who knew him.

The family would like to extend a very special thank you to the staff, doctors, and nurses of the ICU of the downtown VA Hospital and the entire staff. Emmett received excellent care.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the services Thursday at the funeral home.
