Elizabeth Usry Hadden, 84, born October 18, 1941, in Glascock County, peacefully transitioned to her eternal home in heaven Sunday, March 22, 2026, surrounded by her family at her residence in Gibson. Elizabeth’s life was marked by her unwavering commitment to her family and her faith.
A woman of deep faith, she accepted Jesus as her personal Lord and Savior at a young age, finding solace and strength in her faith. She had attended Bethel Church of Glascock County since infancy, becoming a member as a young adult. She found immense joy in sharing her culinary skills with her family and friends and embraced traveling and spending time at her river house on the Satilla River. She retired as Registrar from Glascock County School System and most recently enjoyed serving on the Glascock County Board of Elections.
Elizabeth will be forever missed by her loving husband of 66 years, Charles, and her daughter and son-in-law, Renae and Gregg Kelley; Bayne’s fiancé, Jenna Brown; her sister, Annette Pittman (Ronnie); and brother, David Usry (Wanda); her nieces and nephews, and her church family at Bethel Church of Glascock County.
She is preceded in death by her only grandson, Bayne Kelley, who was her heart. Following Bayne’s accident in 2018, Elizabeth spoke numerous times of being ready to join Bayne in heaven and her family finds comfort in knowing she and Bayne are rejoicing together in heaven. She is also proceeded in death by her daughter, Rachelle; an infant son; her parents, Joe and Florene Usry; and her sister, Frankie Dunevent (Richard).
Her funeral will be held at Bethel Church of Glascock County, 4560 Shelton Road, Gibson, GA on Tuesday, March 24, 2026, at 2:00 p.m. She will lie in state one hour prior to her funeral service. Her funeral will be officiated by her pastor, Rev. Tommy Anderson. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. Honored to serve as pallbearers will be Dave Usry, Aman Pittman, Cole Stevens, Lane Hadden, Ryan Phillips, and Jeff McGahee. Honorary Pallbearers will be members of her Sunday School class.
If so desired, memorials may be made to her beloved church, Bethel Church of Glascock County, c/o David Usry, 4154 Bethel Church Road, Gibson, GA 30810.
The family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to the Allay Hospice team, along with Elizabeth’s caretakers and her special angel, Loretta Tucker, for all of the love and care shown to her.
