Edna (Usry) Newsome

GIBSON - Mrs. Edna Usry Newsome, age 90, of 387 East Main Street, died Tuesday in the University Hospital McDuffie, Thomson, Georgia.
Funeral Services will be held 2:00 PM Friday, December 7, in the Sheppard Funeral Home, with Rev. Al Kurtz officiating. Burial will follow in the Gibson United Methodist Church Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Chris Logue, Glenn Rabun, Charles Usry, Larry Newsome, J. H. Usry and Joe Dean Usry.
A native of Glascock County, Mrs. Newsome was the daughter of the late John Littenton & Annie Blankenship Usry. She worked many years at the Thomson Company and retired from Atwell Pecan Company as an inspector.
Mrs. Newsome was preceded in death by her parents, husband Gordon (Tobe) Newsome, 8 brothers and sisters and is survived by her sons Jimmy (Betty) Newsome of Gibson, and Denny (Cheryl) Newsome of Augusta, and daughter Mary Jo (Charles) Logue of Gibson, 3 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren.
The family may be contacted at the residence of her daughter, 686 Lamb Street in Gibson.
The Newsome family will receive friends 6:00 to 8:00 PM Thursday, December 6, at the funeral home.
