Edna Ruth Neely

Taylor Funeral Home of Louisville announces the death of Mrs. Edna Ruth Neely, age 88, of D. Ponder Road, Bartow, who died, Saturday March 31, 2018.

Funeral services will be held 2:00 PM Saturday, April 7, 2018, in the Friendship Baptist Church with Rev. Steve Keener officiating. Burial will follow in the Friendship Baptist Church Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Gene Smith, Mike Jones, Chris Rogers, Allen Veal, Cale Veal, James Hitchcock, Gary Smith, and Jeff Jones. Honorary pallbearers will be Rogers Moats, Louis Wilson & Jimmy Andrews.

Mrs. Neely was a native of Hiram, GA, but had lived in Bartow for many years. She was a daughter of the late Jesse M. Hitchcock & Myrtle Aiken Hitchcock Pace. She was a member of Friendship Baptist Church and the Senior Adult Sunday School Class.

Edna was preceded in death by her parents; husband, C.L. "Johnny" Neely; daughter, Sue Neely Ball; granddaughter, Susan Ball Mayne; grandson, Jamey H. Ball; siblings: Jesse Felton Hitchcock, Nellie Allen, Alliene Ellis, Mary Dean Mitchell, Jesse Collins Hitchcock, Willette Williams.

Mrs. Neely is survived by granddaughter, Kathy & Mark Crawford of Monroe, GA; grandson, Tommy & Esther Ball, of Monroe, GA; great-grandchildren: Chad Finks, Cody Finks, Tommy Ball, III, Stephanie Witlock, James Ball, Elijah Crawford, Tiffany Beaumont, Mandy Wallace and Christy Ball; sisters: Marjorie Hulsey of Atlanta & Retha Brown of Temple, GA; adopted children, Elwood & Darlene Morris of Louisville; wonderful friends: Johnny & Ginger Hadden of Bartow, J.E. & Frankie Davis of Bartow, & Evelyn Merritt of Bartow; numerous nieces & nephews and her extended family at Friendship Baptist Church.

In lieu of flowers, family requests memorials to be sent to Friendship Baptist Church, 8080 Friendship Church Road, Bartow, GA 30413.

The Neely family will receive friends in the church one hour prior to services on Saturday.
