BARTOW – Mr. Donald Maxie Walden, Sr. age 80 of Highway 24 West died Tuesday, July 9, 2013

Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM Friday July 12, in the Old Bethel Baptist Church in Bartow with Dr. Bill Eckles officiating. Burial will follow in the Jefferson Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers will be David Dollar, Donald Dollar, Ron Kelley, Gary Hughes, Charlie Walden, Jonathan Davis, Donnie Hobbs & Rodney McGraw. Honorary Pallbearers will be Deacons of Bethel Baptist Church and members of the Ingles coffee club.

A native of Bartow Mr. Walden was a son of the late John M. Walden & Cora Lou Cooper Walden. He served in the Army National Guard for 32 years and retired after 25 year of service from Ft. Gordon as an off-set press operator. He was a member of old Bethel Baptist Church for more than 65 years.

Maxie was preceded in death by his parents, sister Katie Dean Huff, brothers John M. Walden, Jr., Charlie G. Walden, Alec R. Walden & Willard G. Walden and is survived by loving wife of 57 years Jean Walden of Louisville, daughter Donna (Jimmy) Pittman of Oconee, sons Donald M. Walden of Atlanta, Brian P. (Susan) of Bartow, brother, Kenneth W. Walden of Denver, Co., grandchildren Ron (Melissa) Kelley, David (Crystal) Dollar, Daniel Dollar, Mallory McDowell, Cason Walden & Lexi Walden, great-grandchildren, Angela Kelley, Jordan Kelley & Kaden Dollar, several nieces & nephews.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the old Bethel Baptist Church.

The Walden Family will receive friends 6:00 to 8:00 PM Thursday at the funeral home;

Taylor Funeral Home 401 West 8th Street, Louisville is in charge of arrangements.
