Deborah (Deloach) Mobley

July 1, 1966 — June 22, 2023

Waynesboro

Deborah DeLoach Mobley of Waynesboro, Ga., passed away peacefully on Thursday, June 22 surrounded by her family. She was 56 years old.

Deborah always said she treasured these things in life: her faith, her family, her friends, and her love of teaching and tennis.

Deborah graduated from Edmund Burke Academy and obtained degrees from Augusta College and Troy State. She spent decades teaching at Waynesboro Elementary, Edmund Burke Academy, Hephzibah Elementary and Copeland Elementary in various capacities. She loved her family well as a devoted wife for 36 years, a loving and supportive mother, an adoring Debo to two grandsons, and a beloved aunt to many nieces and nephews and their spouses and children.

Deborah was predeceased by her mother, Jane Yonce DeLoach, grandparents Pratt and Mildred DeLoach and Herbert and Alpheus Yonce, in-laws Robert and Marie Mobley, and brother-in-law John Mobley.

Left to cherish her memory are her husband of 36 years, James Francis Mobley of Waynesboro, three sons Daniel DeLoach Mobley (Marle) of Sardis, Thomas Watson Mobley II of Savannah and James Lloyd Mobley (Lauryn) of Waynesboro, two grandsons Daniel Riggs Mobley of Sardis and Kayce James Mobley of Waynesboro, father George Lynwood DeLoach of Waynesboro, and three sisters Laura DeLoach Mobley (Bill) of Waynesboro, Cynthia DeLoach Armes (Martin) of Raleigh, N.C., and Mildred DeLoach Mobley (Stan) of Augusta.

There are not words to express how much this sweet, caring, wonderful Southern soul did for our family and how much she meant to us. We will never forget her and will forever cherish all the memories with which she leaves us. A service to celebrate her life will be held on Sunday, June 25 at 2:00 pm at Waynesboro First Methodist Church, 802 Liberty Street, Waynesboro.

The pallbearers will be Bo Goodin, Jeremy Hayes, Grant Liles, Boyd Lively, Chris Mangieri, Paul Mangieri and Bernie Smith. The honorary pallbearers will be Deb's Tennis Buddies.

Visitation will be Saturday, June 24 from 5:00-7:00 pm at Burke Memorial Funeral Home, 842 Liberty Street, Waynesboro. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to Edmund Burke Academy and Waynesboro First Methodist Church.

The Mobley family is under the care of Burke Memorial Funeral Home and Jerry Taylor.
