LOUISVILLE

Taylor Funeral Home of Louisville announces the death of Mrs. Cleo L. Smith, age 87 of Highway 1 North, Louisville, who died the morning of Monday, April 13, 2015 at her residence.

Funeral services will be held 2:00 PM Sunday, April 19th in the Louisville First Baptist Church with Rev. Jonathan Witt officiating.  Burial will follow in the Louisville City Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Van Langham, Cliff Langham, Danny Beckworth, Jimmy Yelton, Alan Wasden, Clayton Wasden, Logan Wasden and Donnie Smith. Honorary Pallbearers will be the Pink Ladies of Jefferson Hospital.

Mrs. Smith was a native of Warren County but had lived most of her life in Jefferson County.  She was a daughter of the late William C. "Press" and Katie Newsome Langham.  She worked many years at the Louisville Shirt Factory and was retired from J.P. Stevens/Forstman and Company after almost 30 years. Mrs. Smith was a member of Louisville First Baptist Church, Woodman of the World and a former member of the Louisville Business and Professional Women's Club.  Mrs. Smith also volunteered as a Pink Lady at Jefferson Hospital for 12 years.

Cleo was preceded in death by her parents, her beloved husband of 64 years; Harvey L. Smith, 5 brothers and 2 sisters and is survived by her daughters; Betty S. Clark and Peggy S. Crawford (Mike) of Louisville, granddaughters; Pamela C. Handy (Jason), Kelli C. McNair (Robbie), Brandi D. Taylor (Keith), and Dawn Davis, great grandchildren; Bailey Handy, Brylie Handy, Mason McNair, Ashton Hadden, Hunter Hadden, Chandler Taylor, Reese Hadden and Camryn Taylor, brother; J. C. Langham (Annette) of Thomson, sister; Judy L. Scott (Hugh) of North Augusta, SC; sister-in-law; Bernice S. Evans (Pilcher) of Anderson, SC, many nieces and nephews.

The family may be contacted at the residence on Highway 1 North in Louisville.

The family request, in lieu of flowers, those desiring may make contributions to the Louisville First Baptist Church, 101 E. 9th Street, Louisville, GA. 30434

The family will receive friends 6:00 to 8:00 PM Saturday, April 18th at Taylor Funeral Home, Louisville.
