Taylor Funeral Home of Louisville announces the death and funeral services of Clara M. Thomas, age 95 of Bartow who died Tuesday morning February 20, 2024 at her home.

Funeral services will be held 2:00 Thursday February 22, in the Chapel of Taylor funeral home Louisville with Rev. Mike Jones officiating. Burial will follow in the Friendship Baptist Church Cemetery.

A native of Jackson County, Mrs. Thomas was a daughter of the late William P. Murphy and Eliza Skelton Murphy. She was a homemaker and a member of Friendship Baptist Church. Clara Granny Thomas, known by all that knew her as Granny.  Granny had an unconditional love for family that will always be remembered.  She was not only their mom but their best friend.  Granny's grand daughter never missed a day calling, if only just to say "Hey, I love you."  A grandson that knew he held a very special place in her heart.

Mrs. Thomas is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Edgar H. Thomas, and 10 siblings.  She is survived by a son, Ken L. Thomas of Bartow, a daughter Nancy Thomas Cobb (Joseph) of Bartow, a grandson Brian Paul Thomas of Athens, and a granddaughter Kristen Lawson (John) of Watkinsville.

A special thanks to Jeanette Thompson for years of love and friendship to Granny and Mary Fields that gave granny the best love and care the last weeks of her life.
