Mr. Charles Richard Walden, Sr., age 59, of Broad Street Avera, died Saturday, August 17, 2013, in the Georgia Regents Medical Center in Augusta.
Funeral Services will be held 2:00PM Tuesday, August 20, at the Pleasant Grove Baptist Church with Rev. Curtis Thigpen and Rev. Nathan Adams officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Pallbearers will be Fred Thomas, Cliff Johnson, Tony Kelley, Charles Padgett, Bryan Davis, and Eric Safford.
Mr. Walden began his career with E-Z-Go/Textron in 1976. After 25 years of service was inducted into the Quarter Century Club and finished up as a Manufacturing Paint Engineer. He was currently serving on the Board of Directors and previously coached Wrens Dixie Youth Baseball.
Mr. Walden was preceded in death by his daughter, April Rose Walden, and a brother, Wayne Walden, and is survived by his wife, Emily Ellen Johnson Walden of Avera; parents, Charles and Jenene Walden of Avera; daughter, Angel Walden English (Brent) of Avera; son, Charles (Chase) Walden, Jr. of Avera; stepdaughter, Ginger Renee Smith of Blythe; stepson, Evan Tyler Partin of Beech Island; brothers, Keith Walden (Ellen) and Greg Walden (Teresa), both of Avera, 5 grandchildren, several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends 6:00 to 8:00PM Monday night at the funeral home.
