LOUISVILLE
Taylor Funeral Home of Louisville announces the death and funeral services of Mr. Samuel "Buck" Powell, age 76 of Highway 1 South, Louisville, who died Monday, August 17, 2015 at his residence.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM Thursday in the Chapel of Taylor Funeral Home with Rev. Jonathan Witt officiating. Burial will follow in the Jefferson Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers will be: Andy Horton, Gene Powell, Bennett Howard, Eugene Powell, Bert Brooks and Seth Yawn.
A native of Jefferson County, Buck was a son of the late Hubert Powell and Margie Newman Powell. He was employed with Flavorich Milk as a truck driver for 40 years before his retirement.
Buck was preceded in death by his parents, brother; Edward Powell and son; Tim Powell and is survived by his loving wife of 44 years; Linda Powell of Louisville, sons; Eric and Debbie Powell of Waynesboro and Steve and Carol Powell of Adrian, daughters; Tamara and Aaron Horton of Reidsville and Roseann and Brandon James of Wrens, brothers; Leroy Powell of Hephzibah and James Powell of Martinez, grandchildren; Hailey and Erin Horton, Colton and Cash James, Shannon and Courtney Powell, and Brandy and Paula Powell, many nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 PM Wednesday, August 19th at the funeral home.
