Taylor Funeral Home of Louisville announces the death and funeral services of Mrs. Brenda Lee Wyckoff Oakley, age 85, of Lawrenceville who died Friday morning, January 19, 2024, in the home of her daughter in Louisville.
Funeral services will be held 2:00 PM Monday January 22, in the chapel of Taylor Funeral Home in Louisville with Pastor Bill South officiating. Burial will follow in the Jefferson Memorial Gardens.
Mrs. Oakley was born September 14, 1938, in North Hornell, NY, the youngest of 5 children of the late Harry Elwood Wyckoff and Mary Edith Cone Wyckoff. She retired from Ciba Vision Corporation after many years of service as a technician and was a member of Victory Baptist Church in Lawrenceville. Brenda always put her children first and loved her Lord and Savior. She loved hummingbirds; to crochet and color, to do jigsaw puzzles, and work on puzzle books. She especially enjoyed spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
Brenda was preceded in death by her parents, daughter, Ruth May Oakley, brothers & sisters-in-law, Rev. Harry & Fayne Wyckoff, Rev. Lynton & Fay Wyckoff; brother, Duane Wyckoff; brother in-law, William Bombelyn; and is survived by son & daughter in-law, George & Rena Oakley, of Suwanee, daughter & son in-law, Tara & Jerry Taylor of Louisville, sister, Joyce J. Bombelyn, of Hudson, FL., sister in-law, Dorothy Wyckoff, of Statham; 5 grandchildren, Seth & Linda Oakley of Jonesboro, Luke Oakley of Suwanee, Karrie Taylor of Louisville, Daniel & Catherine Taylor of Bartow, Lynnsey Taylor of Louisville, and 6 great-grandchildren, Dylan, Natalie, & Charlotte Taylor, of Bartow, Lincoln & Washington Oakley of Jonesboro, and Alyssa Davis, of Louisville, several nieces, and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 12:00 to 2:00 PM Monday January 22, at the funeral home prior to services.
