Taylor Funeral Home of Gibson announces the death of Mrs. Blenda G. Chalker, age 71 of Gibson who died Friday evening January 14, 2022, at her residence.

Funeral services will be held 2:00 PM Monday January 17, in the Sheppard Memorial Chapel of Taylor Funeral Home in Gibson. Burial will follow in the Gibson City Cemetery.

A native of Louisville Blenda was a daughter of the late Willie Fred Chalker and Pauline Turner Chalker. She retired from the Georgia Department of Family & Children after many years of service then worked for Duncan Drug, CVS Pharmacy and Kroger Drugs in Augusta. When she moved back to Gibson she worked for Glascock County Transit till she began to care for her 4 grandchildren.

Mrs. Chalker is survived by daughters, Dena Ingram, Raina Clark, sisters, Linda Tolbert, Freddie K. Chalker, 7 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, 2 great-great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews, aunt Ponda, uncle, Bunk

The family will receive friends following the service Monday at the funeral home.
