Taylor Funeral Home of Louisville announces the death and home going celebration services of Mrs. Betty Jean Pinkston Laster, age 72, of 602 Hwy 17 South, Louisville, who died Saturday March 18, 2023, in the Augusta University Medical Center.

A private home going service for the family honoring Mrs. Laster will be Friday March 24th in the Chapel of Taylor Funeral Home, Louisville GA, with Rev. Walter Holmes presiding.

Born July 2, 1950, in Jefferson County to the parentage of the late Thomas Pinkston, Jr. and Nellie Pinkston, she was one of thirteen children. She joined Dixon Chapel AME Church at an early age. Later she united with the Christian family at Tarver Grove Baptist Church in Bartow GA. She graduated from Jefferson County High School class of 1968. She married Henry Laster, Sr. on January 11, 1978. She retired from Glendale Nursing Home after 25 years of services as a Nurse's aide.

Mrs. Laster was preceded in death by her parents, four brothers: Thomas Pinkston III, Jesse Pinkston, David Pinkston, and Ethan Pinkston and a loving nephew, Marcus Jarel Kelly. Those left to cherish her loving memories are her husband of 45 years, Henry Laster, Sr. of Louisville GA, sons, Henry Laster Jr. of Hephzibah GA, and Kenneth A. Pinkston, of Louisville, stepchildren; Lydia Lowe (Lance), Bryant Austin and Marcia Laster, grandson Demonte Laster and granddaughter D'ahviyon Gladden. Four brothers; Edward (Lizzie) Pinkston of Louisville, Ricky Pinkston of Louisville, Frankie (Tonia) Pinkston of Rossville, and Tyrone Pinkston of Atlanta, GA. Four Sisters; Penny Gibbons of Louisville, Clara (George) Outler, of Evans GA, Mary (Eddie) Burley of Augusta GA and Jewelstine Robinson of Atlanta, GA, and aunt Thelma Cooper, and a host of loving nieces, nephews, cousins, and other relatives and friends.

The family will receive friends from 12:00 - 2:00 PM Friday, March 24, 2023, at the funeral home.
