Betty (Paul) Bowman

July 8, 1930 — March 15, 2013

Wadley - Mrs. Betty Paul Bowman, age 82 of 4217 Greens Old Mill Road, died Friday morning, March 15, 2013 in the Jefferson Hospital.

Funeral services will be held 2:00 PM Sunday, March 17, 2013 in the Coleman Chapel United Methodist Church with Mr. Randall Bryan officiating.  Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

A native of Wadley, Mrs. Bowman was a daughter of the late Loring and Theo Murry Paul. She retired from the Richmond County Board of Education where she was an educator and coach at Murphy Jr. High School.  Betty was a lifelong member of Coleman Chapel United Methodist Church where she was a devoted worker, pianist and Lay speaker. She was a member of the Jefferson County Retired Teachers Association and founder of the Wadley Prayer Breakfast Club.

Mrs. Bowman is preceded in death by her parents, and is survived by a son Murry Bowman of Louisville, daughter Diana Holmes and Randall of Augusta, sister Anne Paul McGahee of Jesup, grandchildren Johnna and Joey Raines of Wadley, Nikki Bowman and Robbie of Tifton, Kelley and Craig Jersey of Wadley, Haley Bowman of Louisville, Lori and Jerry Copeland, Samantha Holmes and Christopher Holmes of Sandersville, a special cousin Ruth Paul of Wadley, many nieces & nephews, as well as great nieces and nephews.

The family may be contacted at the home of Murry Bowman, 1274 Bermuda Drive, Louisville.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Coleman Chapel United Methodist Church Cemetery Fund, 7118 River Road, Wadley, Georgia 30477.

The Bowman family will receive friends 6:00 to 8:00 PM Saturday at the funeral home.
