Taylor Funeral Home of Gibson announces the death and funeral services of Mr. Barry Joel Johnson, age 47 of Warren Street, Mitchell, who died Wednesday, March 4, 2015.

Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM Monday March 9, in the Friendship Baptist Church in Mitchell, with Rev. Jim King & Rev. Phillip Primm officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Pallbearers will be Allen Haywood, Troy Hadden, Charlie Wilson, Wallace Johnson, Steven Salisbury, Russell Rhodes, Reid Rhodes and Pea Wee Williams. Honorary Pallbearers will be Deacons of Friendship Baptist Church, Clinton Tucker, Ricky Tucker and Troy Moss.

A lifelong resident of Glascock County, Mr. Johnson was a son of the late Boze Johnson, Jr. and Barbara English Johnson.  Barry was a jack of all trades in the construction business and was a member of Friendship Baptist Church G.

Mr. Johnson is survived by his mother; Barbara Johnson of Mitchell, sisters; Brenda J. and John David Parsons of Appling and Beverly J. and Ricky Griswold of Douglas, brother; Benjamin Joseph Johnson of Mitchell, 4 nephews, 1 niece, several aunts, uncles and cousins.

The family respectfully requests memorial contributions to be made directly to Taylor Funeral Home, 57 College Place, Gibson, GA 30810.

The Johnson family will receive friends 3:00 to 5:00 PM Sunday, March 8th, at the funeral home.
