Taylor Funeral Home of Gibson announces the death and funeral services of Mrs. Barbara Kitchens Bales, of 2115 Highway 171 South Gibson who died Sunday morning July 7, 2024, at her home.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Tuesday July 9, 2024, in the Sheppard Memorial Chapel of Taylor Funeral Home Gibson with Rev. Bobby Farmer officiating. Burial will follow in the Fellowship Baptist Church cemetery. Men honored to service as pallbearers, John Bales, Jr., David T. Bales, Matthews Bales, Ben Scott, Ricky Williams, Chris Tarnow, & Neil Scott.
Barbara was a native of Augusta but had lived most of her life in Gibson, she was a daughter of the late Robert Edward Kitchens & Margaret Mae Tanner Kitchens. She retired from the Glascock County Health Department and was a member of Thomson Church of God
She was preceded in death by his beloved husband of 50 years, David Hugh Bales, son John Bales, and is survived by sister, Merlene Thompson, brothers Floyd Kitchens, & Don Akridge, 5 grandchildren, John Bales, Jr., David T. Bales, Brand Williford, Matthew Bales & Dakota Perry, 11 great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends.
The family will receive friends from 12:00 to 2:00 PM Tuesday prior to funeral services at the funeral home.
