Taylor Funeral Home of Gibson announces the death and funeral services of Mrs. Alice Elizabeth Buckner, age 95, of West Main Street in Gibson who died Sunday evening, April 20, 2025.

Funeral services to honor her life will be held at 11:00 AM Friday morning graveside in the Gibson City Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the services on Friday at the funeral home.

Mrs. Buckner was a native of Wrens, a daughter of the late Garland Templeton and Janie Perdue Templeton. She attended Wrens High School and had retired from the textile industry working in the samples department at Clearwater Finishing Plant. Mrs. Buckner was a long-time, faithful member of Gibson First Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, James Earl (Sonny) Buckner, two grandchildren, Valerie McCall and Floyd McCall, Jr, brothers Andrew Templeton, and Frank Templeton, and a sister, Frances Templeton. She is survived by her children, Connie Price, of Gibson, Bob Norton, of Avera, Janice Rushing of Augusta and Charles Norton of Grovetown, brothers, James Templeton and Roy Templeton, a sister, Jo Turner, 4 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews.

Taylor Funeral Home and Cremation Care of Gibson is in charge of arrangements.
