Taylor Funeral Home of Gibson announces the death and funeral services of Mr. Terry Joseph Usry, age 70, who died Wednesday morning August 28, 2019 at Doctors Hospital in Augusta.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 am Saturday August 31, 2019, in the Sheppard Memorial Chapel of Taylor funeral home in Gibson with Rev. Mark Stewart & Rev. Clarence Thompson officiating. Burial will be in the Gibson United Methodist Church Cemetery. Pallbearers will be: Mike Lyons, Andrew Usry, Justin Usry, Phillip Usry, Benjamin Usry and Jonathan Douglas.
Mr. Usry was a lifelong resident of Gibson. He was a son of the late Littleton Carlize “Buddy” Usry and Lizzy Sue Morgan Usry. He was the owner and operator of Usry’s Mobile Home Hardware in Gibson and a member of Griffin Chapel Church in Mitchell.
Mr. Usry was preceded in death by his parents, brothers, Paul, Donnell & Thomas Usry, and is survived by his loving wife Karolyn Usry, of Gibson, sons & daughters in-law, Scott & Gail Usry, Anthony & Libby Usry, all of Gibson, sisters & brothers in law, Mildred & Ed Barrow, of Wrens, Margie & Melvin Black, of Gibson, brothers and sisters in law, Charles & Jean Usry of Gibson, Isaac & Susie Usry of Stapleton, grandsons, Andrew, Justin, Phillip, Benjamin, Jayden, step grandchildren, Jonathan & Dana, great granddaughters, Kaleigh, Kaylee, Willow, many nieces, nephews and friends.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Griffin Chapel Baptist Church, c/o Kathy Lyons, 646 Gray Street, Gibson, Georgia 30810.
The family will receive friends 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm Friday at the funeral home.
