Shirley Hodges Obituary
Taylor Funeral Home of Louisville announces the death and funeral services of Mrs. Shirley Hodges, age 83 of Moxley who died Friday morning December 28, 2018 at her residence.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM Monday, December 31, in the Moxley United Methodist Church with Rev. David Boggs officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
A native of Jefferson County, Mrs. Shirley was the daughter of Zepho Belcher and Cleo Tanner Belcher. She was a 1954 graduate of Wadley High School. Shirley served many years as secretary for Bartow Academy, and then Thomas Jefferson Academy. She also worked as a secretary for Hodges Machine Shop and was a long-time member of Moxley United Methodist Church.
Shirley was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Zepho Belcher, Jr., Enon A. Belcher, and is survived by her husband of 55 years Donald Hodges, of Moxley, sons and daughters in law, Clay & Tonya Hodges, Kelvin & Wanda Hodges, all of Moxley, brother and sister in law, Dewey & Vickie Belcher, of Edgehill, grandchildren; Chase & Sarah Hodges, Kristen & Michael Henney, Kayla E. Hodges, Phillip Hodges, great grandchildren; Emilia Hodges, Scarlett Henney, several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends 6:00 to 8:00 PM Sunday, December 30, at the funeral home.
