Margie (Poole) Chalker

Taylor Funeral Home of Gibson announces the death and funeral services of Mrs. Margie Poole Chalker, age 86 of Gibson, who died Thursday, January 26, 2017.

Funeral services will be held at 3:00 PM, Sunday, January 29, 2017 at Taylor Funeral Home with Mr. Jack McCorkle officiating.   Burial will follow in the Millcreek Baptist Church Cemetery.  Pallbearers will be:  Chris Chalker, Quenton Weber, Eric Keller, Mike Beamon, Seth Williams, Cason Chalker and Steven Marsh.

A native of Glascock County, Mrs. Chalker was the daughter of the late Tillman Poole and Orie Underwood Poole. Margie was a Supervisor seamstress at the Gibson Garment Factory. She was an active, lifetime member of Millcreek Baptist Church.

Mrs. Chalker was preceded in death by her parents and brothers, James Poole and Joe Poole, and is survived by her daughters, Lois and Robert Channell of Bailey, NC and Attis Keller of Thomson; son Louie and Ponda Chalker of Avera; 9 grandchildren; 20 great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, the family request memorials be made to Millcreek Baptist Church Cemetery.

The Chalker family will receive friends from 2:00 PM until time of service in the funeral home on Sunday.
