Irene H. Ward

Taylor funeral home of Louisville announces the death and funeral services of Mrs. Irene Helen Ward age 92 of Louisville, GA., formerly of Woburn, MA., who passed away Friday July 5, 2019.

Irene was an active member of St. Barbara’s Church and choir in Woburn for 40 years and considered the members her second family. Following retirement from Millipore, Bedford, MA, Irene moved to Florida with her daughter Denise and then to Louisville Georgia where she was a member of the Joan of Arc Catholic Church. She was also a member of the Red Hat Society, and enjoyed knitting, reading and spending time with family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Victor Urievch & Katie Skakofska Urievch and her husband Robert (Corby) Ward, sisters Mildred Harkins, Lillian Russo, Jennie Desmond and her brother Frank Jurewicz, and is survived by her children, Karen Trefry and husband Daniel of Haverill, MA, Robert Ward and wife Kathryn of Portsmouth, RI and Denise Ward and husband Richard Schickling of Louisville and her sister Josephine Arbetter of Florida. She was the loving grandmother of Daniel Trefry Jr, Laura Hawksley, Charles Ward, Nicole Churchill and Samuel Ward and the great grandmother of Nathaniel, Mallory and Tanner.

Memorial mass will be held 9:00 A.M. Sunday July 28 in the St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church in Louisville with Father Peter Otor serving as celebrant.

The family will receive friends immediately following the service.
