Taylor Funeral Home of Louisville announces the death and funeral services of Mr. Herbert L. Davis, age 82 of Highway 171 North Louisville who died Sunday evening June 23, 2019 in the Jefferson Hospital.
Funeral services will be held 2:00 PM Wednesday, June 26, 2019 in the Chapel of Taylor Funeral Home with Rev. Josh Carswell and Mr. Joe Cheeks officiating. Burial will follow in the Louisville City Cemetery with the grandsons serving as pallbearers.
A lifelong resident of Jefferson County Mr. Davis was a son of the late Elgie Davis and Mary Wilkins Davis. He retired from Thermo King after 23 1/2 years of service, was a lifetime carpenter, served in the Army National Guard, and a member of the Church of the Nazarene in Louisville.
Mr. Davis is preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Mrs. Elizabeth Davis, brothers; Scootch Davis, Willard Davis, granddaughter April Landrum, and is survived by, children, Ricky Davis of Louisville, Gerald and Wanda Davis of Gibson, Rocky and Charlotte Gilmore of Louisville, Brenda and Mack Holloway of Lincolnton, Cathy Pennington of Martinez, Stony Gilmore of Atlanta and Chantay and Lee Sammons of Wrens, siblings, Cecil Davis, J.E. & Frankie Davis, Virginia Pruitt, Jeanette & Johnny Willie, Terisa & Lee Hopkins, 17 grandchildren, Brandi and Keith Taylor, Dawn Davis, Emily Allen, Thomas and Leah Davis, John Davis, Luke Davis, Abbie and Kevin Frost, Amy and Trent Culbertson, Hank Gilmore, Jamie Landrum, Taylor and Lindsey Pennington, Tucker and Kayla Pennington, Alex and Josh Cade, Spenser Gilmore, Levi Sammons, Zeke Sammons and Lindsey Sammons, 14 great grandchildren, several nieces, nephews and friends.

The Davis family will receive friends 6:00 to 8:00 PM, Tuesday, June 25, at the funeral home.
