Grace (Williams) Sheppard

Taylor Funeral Home of Louisville announces the death and funeral services of Mrs. Ruby Grace Sheppard, age 68 of Old US 1 Wadley, GA who died Thursday, June 29, 2017 in Vero Health and Rehab, in Wadley.

Funeral services will be held 2:00 PM Sunday, July 2, 2017 in St. Johns United Methodist Church, Wadley, GA with Rev. Bob Holbert and Rev. Hugh Baxter officiating.  Burial will follow in Walden’s United Methodist Church Cemetery, Avera, GA. Pallbearers will be:  Billy Kelley, Billy Kelley, Jr., Joel Cowart, Will Hadden, Zach Hadden and Gordon Mays, Jr.

A native of Jefferson County, Grace was a daughter of the late James Leon Williams and Ruby Cochran Williams.  Mrs. Sheppard was a 1966 graduate of Wadley Highschool. She was a homemaker and attended St. Johns United Methodist Church and Sister in Christ.  

Grace was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Sonny Williams and Eugene “Pee Wee” Williams and is survived by her loving husband, Joe Sheppard of Wadley; sons, Tim and Tasha Smith of Wadley and Michael and Tara Smith of Wadley; step-daughter, Candy and Keith Hadden of Gibson; grandchildren, Jessica Smith, Kelley Smith, Sarah Kitchens, Will Hadden and Zach Hadden; great grandchildren, Emma Lynn Pickard and Lane Kitchens; brother, Joe and Jean Williams of Wrightsville; sister, Mary Gladin of Louisville; many nieces and nephews.

The Sheppard family will receive friends 6:00 to 8:00 PM on Saturday, July 1, 2017 at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, the Sheppard family request memorials please be made to the American Cancer Society.

The family will gather at the home of Michael and Tara Smith, 4976 Old US 1, Wadley, GA.

Taylor Funeral Home and Cremation Care of Louisville will be in charge of arrangements.
