Taylor Funeral Home of Gibson announces the death and funeral services of Mrs. Dot S. Raley, age 62, of Mitchell, who died Sunday, June 24, 2018 at her residence.
Funeral services will be held 1:00 PM Thursday, June 28, in the Auditorium of the Glascock County Consolidated School with Rev. Justin Raley and Rev. Tim Thomas officiating. Mrs. Raley will lie in state from 12:00 PM until the funeral hour. Burial service will follow at 5:00 PM in the Scenic Memorial Gardens, 304 Highway 49 West Milledgeville, Georgia with Rev Randall Thomas officiating. Pallbearers will be: Kyle Downs, John Albright, Dean Reese, Michael Todd, Jason Arrington and Chris Kelley.
A native and lifelong residence of Glascock county, Dot was a daughter of the late Leroy Scarber and Laurie Shelton Scarber. She was a 1974 graduate of Glascock County High School, a member of Freedom Church in Milledgeville, and worked at Glascock County Consolidated School for over 30 years.
Mrs. Raley was preceded in death by her parents and is survived by her beloved husband William R. Raley; son and daughter in law, William Justin Raley & April of Milledgeville, grandson Chase Allen Raley, granddaughter, Hannah Marie Raley, both of Milledgeville; brother and sister in law Wayne Scarber & Shelia of Gibson; sister, Wanda Chapman of Gibson, several nieces, nephews and many friends.
The Raley family will receive friends from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM Wednesday, June 27, in the Auditorium of the Glascock County Consolidated School.
In lieu of flowers, the family request memorials be made to a Church of the donors choice.
