To the Jordan family,
It is with great sadness to hear of Mr. Billy's passing. I worked with him during my time at Farm Bureau as an adjuster. Being from Blakely myself, we had some fun laughs about times gone by "back home in Blakely". With his great knowledge of genealogy he determined that we were related and I thought that was amazing. When I came to work in Jefferson County, he always was so helpful and we had great times riding around Jefferson County looking at damaged homes and cars. As he said, he was the navigator and I was the driver with the checkbook. He took me to play golf behind the office and I hit the best chip shot of my life with him as a witness. Along with some golf balls hit on the roof of the TJA building. I always remember him calling my low shots, "worm burners". I never forgot that term and I use it often. With my new job I never got to go back to Louisville but I thought of him often. He was a man of great wisdom and he truly loved his wife and family. I loved him as an insurance agent, a native of Blakely. and most importantly, a man of Christ.
May you think of him often and when you do may it bring smiles to your heart. He was one of a kind and I know we all shall see him once again when we too ascend into Heaven.
John D. Hayes

I work at the Early County Museum in Blakely. Mr. Billy was, by far, one of my favorite visitors. His depth of knowledge about Early County and Georgia history was unparallelled. I could sit and talk to him for hours, and I always walked out the door with him because we were both still talking and then talking some more. If you can imagine that?

He truly was a precious man. I don't know any of his immediate family, but I do know Miss Judy and Cathy. Please know that my prayers will be for peace that passes all understanding for everyone who was privileged to know and love this gentleman. The void he leaves will not ever be filled; however, I hope and pray that the condolences will give you all a modicum of comfort as you grieve.

He was a gem; I will miss his visits.

Sincerely,
Janie Thomas

Ms. Barbara, I have so many awesome memories of Mr. Billy. My favorite one is when we were at Daddy's office (20 years ago). Mr. Billy and Daddy were laughing about something when the phone rang. "State Farm Insurance, this is Ginger. How may I help you?" The guy on the phone says, "Let me speak to Billy." Me: "Billy Jordan?" Guy on phone: "Yes, ma'am." Me: "Mr. Billy, you got a phone call." Mr. Billy: "Hello....well I am not at my office....no sir. You called State Farm....oh just visiting old Ray....I will give you a call when I get back to Farm Bureau." It still makes me laugh, just thinking about how tickled Mr. Billy and Daddy got. I will miss him, but I will tell you I feel blessed to know him and you. I love you very much!
