Dwight Reese Obituary

Taylor Funeral Home of Gibson announces the death and funeral services of Dwight Reese, who died Monday evening February 12, 2024, at his home. He was a beloved husband, father, papa, and brother, who left a deep void in the hearts of his family and friends. Born on May 17, 1953, in Louisville, Georgia, Dwight was the cherished son of Don Reese and Jeanette Williford Reese. Dwight's journey through life was filled with determination and hard work. In 1971, he graduated from Glascock County School and remained a lifelong resident of the area. He dedicated over 26 years of his life to Thiele Kaolin, where he showcased commitment and loyalty in his career.

While Dwight was known for his strong work ethic, it was his loving nature and zest for life that truly set him apart. Those closest to him recognized him as a man of many passions. Fishing held a special place in his heart; he loved nothing more than spending peaceful days on the river, reeling in catfish and eel. His love for fishing extended beyond the thrill of the catch—he delighted in hosting family reunions centered around fish fries, that time spent together became unforgettable memories.

In addition to fishing, Dwight had a keen interest in hot rods and motorcycles. That passion began from the young age of 11 years old. —he would pass that passion down to his daughter, Michelle. Along with family and friends, they shared many rides together including charity events, trips to Gatlinburg, TN, and Daytona Bike Week, however, it was Dwight's unwavering devotion to his family that defined him most. The happiness he found in spending time with loved ones knew no bounds. His caring presence created an atmosphere of love and warmth that will forever be cherished by all who had the privilege of knowing him.

Dwight Reese peacefully passed away at his residence on February 12, 2024. Although he may no longer be physically present with us, his memory will forever live on in the hearts of his grieving family and friends.

A funeral service will be held in Dwight's honor at 2:00 PM on Thursday, February 15, in the Sheppard Memorial Chapel of Taylor Funeral Home in Gibson. Led by Rev. Stacy Williford and Billy Wasden, this service will pay tribute to Dwight's well-lived life and the legacy he leaves behind.

Family and friends are invited to gather at Taylor Funeral Home from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM before the service. Additionally, condolences may be offered to Dwight's family at his home located at 771 Lamb Street, Gibson, GA 30810.

Dwight Reese is survived by his beloved wife, Teresa Johnson Reese of Gibson; a daughter, Michelle Reese of Gibson; stepdaughters Brittany Dudley of Tennille, Tiffany Wallace of Warthen, and Taylor (AJ) Troy of Thomson; a stepson, Tyler Howard of Augusta; one brother, Dennis Reese of Augusta. Dwight's impact extends to the next generation as he was lovingly known as "Papa White" to Cole Dudley, Chevi Dudley, Cheyenne Dudley, Ivy James Wallace, Carson Troy, Keegan Troy, and a special bonus grandchild Hudson Chalker. The love he shared with his family will continue to flourish through the memories they created together.
