Mrs. Virginia Grace Brown Livesay, age 87, of Walnut Street, Louisville died Friday July 17, 2009 in the Medical College of Georgia in Augusta.
Funeral services will be 11:00 AM Monday, July 20, 2009, in the Louisville United Methodist Church with Rev. David Hibberts officiating. Burial will follow in the family plot in Bartow City Cemetery. Pallbearers will be David Boggs, Larry Rhodes, Tag Sheppard, Jimmy Goodwin, Frank Williford, and Joe Cheeks.
A native of Bartow, GA, Mrs. Livesay was a daughter of the late Platt River & Alma Williams Brown, Sr. She retired after more than 30 years of service as a seamstress at the Louisville Shirt Factory and was a member of Louisville United Methodist Church.
Mrs. Livesay was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Doyal Andrew Livesay; a son, William Drake Livesay; a daughter, Linda Diann Lamb; 2 sisters, Lucille Thomas and Evelyn Brown; 2 brothers, William J. Brown and Platt River Brown, Jr., and is survived by son, Dennis Paul Livesay of Louisville; daughter, Doylene Livesay Knight of Villa Rica, GA; 3 sisters, Ruby Thomas of Louisville, Betty Sue Goodwin of Louisville, and Agnes Sykes, of Stafford, VA; 6 grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren, 2 great-great-grandchildren, several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
The Livesay family will be at the residence, 926 Walnut Street in Louisville. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to Louisville United Methodist Church, 301 West 7th Street, Louisville, GA 30434.
The Livesay family will receive friends 4:00 to 6:00 PM Sunday at the funeral home.
Taylor Funeral Home 401 West 8th Street, Louisville is in charge of arrangements.
