Obituary

Mr. C. L. “Lawson” Cook, age 88, entered into rest Monday night November 9, 2009, in the University Hospital in Augusta.

Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM Thursday, November 12, 2009, in the Louisville First Baptist Church with Rev. Larry Montgomery and Rev. Hardy Owens officiating. Burial will follow in the Louisville City Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Ott Stephens, Robbie Britt, Larry Morgan, Robert Clements, Mike McDowell, and William Rabun. Honorary Pallbearers will be deacons and the T.W. Wilson Sunday School Class of Louisville First Baptist Church, and the Ingles Coffee club.

A native of Washington County, Mr. Cook was the son of the late Wallace J. and Stella Hood Cook. He was a retired carpenter and a member of the Louisville First Baptist church for many years where he had served as a deacon and was a member of the T.W. Wilson Sunday School class. He was also a member of the Ingles Coffee Club.

Mr. Cook is survived by his wife of 66 years, Evelyn Hart Cook of Louisville, a son, Charlie L. Cook, Jr. and his wife, Kay of Lawrenceville, Georgia, two grandsons, Barry Cook and his wife Christina of Wichita Falls, TX, and Brian Cook and his wife Tina of Jefferson, Georgia, three great-grandsons, Brannon, Tanner, and Austin, and one great-granddaughter, Erin.

The Cook family may be contacted at the residence on Cook Street in Louisville. In lieu of flowers the family suggests, those desiring, please make contributions to the Louisville First Baptist Church at 101 E. 9th St., Louisville, Georgia 30434.

The family will receive friends from 6:00PM to 8:00PM, Wednesday, November 11, 2009, at the funeral home.
