Mary Etta (Hunter) Taylor

Taylor Funeral Home of Gibson announces the death and funeral services of Mrs. Mary Etta Taylor, age 87 of ECC Mine Road in Edgehill, who died Tuesday morning, November 8, 2016 at her residence. 

Funeral services will be held 2:00 PM Saturday, November 12, 2016 in Mt. Zion Congregational Methodist Church with family members officiating.  Pallbearers will be:  Matthew Andrus, Ricky Sammons, Wendell Amerson, Yancey Taylor, Joshua McCoy and Scotty Andrus.  

A native of Louisville, Mary was a daughter of the late Hansel Hunter Hawkins and Lucille Logue Hawkins.  She was a member of Mt. Zion Congregational Methodist Church for more than 20 years.  She was a homemaker and had worked part time for Raley’s Restaurant as a fish cooker and was a member of the Eastern Star for many years. 

Mrs. Taylor was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Alpha Othene Taylor; brother, Robert Hunter Hawkins and sister, Elizabeth Ann Amerson and is survived by her son, James L. and Jo Taylor of Goldendale, WA and daughter, Lawanna and Don Andrus of Edgehill; 6 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren, several nieces, nephews and cousins. 

The Taylor family will received friends 6:00 to 8:00 PM Friday, November 11, 2016 in the funeral home.
