Taylor Funeral Home of Louisville announces the death and services of Mr. Mark Gerald Justen Sr., age 65 of, Louisville, GA, affectionately known as "Pop & Papa" who died November 6, 2016 in Louisville, Georgia.  

Memorial service will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday, December 10, 2016 at Louisville United Methodist Church, 301 W. 7th St. Louisville, Gerogia 30434. 

Mark was born June 3, 1951 in Rantoul, Illinois, the son of Lt. Col. Eugene James Justen and Nancy Henderson Justen.  Mark graduated in 1969 from Louisville Academy and went on to graduate from Georgia Southern University in 1973 with a BA in Industrial Technology & Management.  He was a member of the Tau Kappa Epsilon Fraternity at Georgia Southern.  On September 7, 1974, he married Cathie C. Huff at First United Methodist Church in Marietta, GA.  Mark was a member of the Louisville United Methodist Church where he formerly served as a leader for the MYF.  He also coached youth recreation teams for the Louisville Parks & Recreation.  Mark spent his career working for Thermo King in Louisville, The Kroger Company in Atlanta, and President Baking Company in Augusta.  He later went on to work with his son, John, in commercial construction until retirement.

Mark was a kind and gentle man who was extremely proud of his sons and grandchildren.  He could be part of any conversation and so many people loved to talk with him.  Mark's favorite activities included playing or watching any sport, fishing, hunting, movies, and of course dancing for which he will always be remembered.  

Mark is preceded in death by his parents and sister, Lynn Harter and is survived by his two sons Mark G. Justen Jr. (Cassie) of Nevils, Georgia, John W. Justen (Melissa) of Waxhaw, North Carolina; and four beloved grandchildren, Mark G. Justen III, Malone Isabella Justen, Riley Kathryn Justen and Logan S. Justen; his brother, Eugene J. Justen of Acworth, his sister Heidi J. Murphy of Louisville, and ex-wife Cathie H. Justen of Charlotte, NC.
