Lucy S> Williamson

Taylor Funeral Home of Louisville announces the death and funeral services of Mrs. Lucy S. Williamson, age 88 of Louisville who died Saturday evening December 17, 2016 at Emanuel Medical Center in Swainsboro.

Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM Wednesday, December 21, 2016 at Louisville First Baptist Church with Rev. Jonathan Witt officiating. Burial will follow at Jefferson Memorial Gardens Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Christopher Williamson, Kane Riner, Patrick Riner, Bubba Bargeron, Brannen Bargaron, and Allen Proctor.

A native of Pembroke, GA, Lucy was a daughter of the late Charles Lee & Irma Popham Strickland. She graduated from Bryan County High School and on October 4, 1952 was married to Sumner N. Williamson, Jr. They moved to Louisville in 1968 and became a member of Louisville First Baptist Church where she served faithfully for 48 years. Lucy served as Clerk for the Jefferson County Commissioners for more than 20 years.  She was a member of the Pink Ladies Auxiliary of Jefferson Hospital for more than 22 years and was a member of the Hephzibah WMU association where she served as secretary and treasurer for 40 years. 

Mrs. Williamson was preceded in death by her mother and father, her husband S.N. “Bill” Williamson, Jr, a daughter, Pamela Helen Williamson, sister, Ouida Proctor, brothers, Charles Strickland and Glen Strickland, step-sister Daisy Patrick, step-brother, Bee Bacon, and nephew, Thomas Strickland.

Lucy is survived by her son, Sumner Dale Williamson (Cindy) of Louisville, daughter, Lee Williamson Riner of Oak Park, grandsons, Christopher Dale Williamson, of Louisville, Joshua Kane Riner (Jennifer) of Savannah, Patrick Sumner Riner of Oak Park, granddaughter, Lauren Williamson Dunham (Theodore), great grandson, Kayden Lee Riner, great granddaughters, Braelyn Kate Riner and Shelby Elaine Dunham, and a very special best friend, Mrs. Ruth Bargeron of Louisville.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made in honor of Lucy S. Williamson to the Louisville First Baptist Church 101 East 9th Street Louisville, GA 30434

The Williamson family will receive friends Tuesday, December 20, 2016 from 5:00 to 7:00 PM at the funeral home.
