Barbara B. May

Taylor Funeral Home of Gibson announces the death and funeral services of Ms. Barbara B. May, age 64 of Broadnax Road, Mitchell, who died Thursday, April 20, 2017 at her residence. 

Funeral services will be held 2:00 PM Sunday, April 23, 2017 in the Mitchell Full Gospel Church with Rev. Jackie Downs and Rev. Hugh Turnley officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Pallbearers will be:  Jimmy Broadnax, Jr., Marvin Broadnax, Austin Justice, Cole May, Deven Justice and Mercedes Justice.

A native of Louisville, GA, Barbara was a daughter of the late Jim Broadnax and Bessie Mills Broadnax. She graduated Valedictorian at OFTC where she became a LPN, worked for Gibson Health & Rehab and taught Sunday school at Mitchell Full Gospel Church for 22 years.  

Mrs. May was preceded in death by her parents and husband, Elroy May and is survived by her sons, Phillip & Terri May of Mitchell, Michael & Jennifer May of Mitchell and Eddie May of Augusta; sister, Rev. Charlene & Sam Griswold of Mitchell; brothers, Jimmy & Sara Broadnax of Mitchell, Rev. Lonnie & Elaine McCall of Appling, several nieces and nephews.

The May family will receive friends 6:00 to 8:00 PM Saturday, April 22, 2017 at the funeral home.
